Susan Gregory
Susan J. Gregory died, November 20, 2016 following a diagnosis of cancer to which she declined treatment and decided to live life to its fullest. In respect of the family’s wishes there will be no service or visitation. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
Susan was born to Wayne and Eleanor (Floyd) Keefer in Vinton, IA on December 30, 1944. She graduated from Washington High School in Vinton, IA in 1963 and received technical training in Minneapolis, MN. She married Donald D. Gregory on September 3, 1964. Sue began her banking career as a bookkeeper at the State Bank of Vinton in 1976 and retired after 29 years of service as the branch manager of US Bank in Vinton. Upon her retirement in 2005, Don and she enjoyed traveling, boating, and fishing on the Mississippi River at Harpers Ferry, and spending time with their grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and in 2015 by her husband, Don.
Survivors include her two sons, Darrin (Liz) Gregory of Gravois Mills, MO and Bruce (Abbi) Gregory of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren, Amber (Daniel) Laxton, Alyssa, Maezi, and Owen Gregory; and one great-grandson, Devon, Laxton.
