Jeffrey Shaw

To his family: Very sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. I knew him in jr. high school; in fact, he took me to the 9th Grade Prom and was a true gentleman. My prayers are with you at this difficult time, especially to Sophie, who won't understand.

To the Shaw Family, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Coach Shaw was more than just another football coach to so many of us young men. Coach Shaw may be gone but the values he instilled in all of us will live on for generations to come. Rest In Peace Coach.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Jeff was too young to be taken. I knew him from high school. But read the previous condolences and it sounds like he was a wonderful person who cared deeply for others.

Deb, I am saddened to read of Jeff's passing. We worked together at Oakdale many years ago. I also knew Fred and Dan. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Both Fred and Jeff will always hold a special place in my heart.

I am sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. We were classmates from 5th grade thru high school, and worked together at any-fee for awhile. He was a good man.

To Deb and the entire Shaw family my thoughts and prayers are with you. Jeff was a great man and we will miss him. I played next to "Big #75" for three years and have countless memories of his intensity on the field, his dry sense of humor, and his calm demeanor off the field. Jeff is one of the many greats who wore the Blue and White. If there is football in heaven - call the 46 slant - I am certain he still knows what to do. RIP Jeff Mike Allard

Deb and family, I am sorry for your loss. I graduated from Jefferson with Jeff, although I knew him more from working with him at Hy-Vee. He was always very nice and respectful to everyone.

Oh Deb, I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. Fifty-Seven is too young. I so enjoyed being your neighbors for 13 years. Jeff was always so helpful to me when I had lawn or bush questions....fond memories of catching up with him on the back lawn when we were both doing outdoors work around our properties. He gave Tyler his first job, shoveling snow off your driveway and sidewalks. During a power outage, he and Jake helped get both our homes hooked up with electricity from Connie & Tom's place....Jeff and Jake tromped through the cold and snow to get our refrigerators connected. I was so grateful and shared some firewood with your family as a thank you. I remember you then calling me when the power came back on. Good neighbors! My sincerest condolences to all of you. Big hug, Ruth

To the Shaw family, my deepest and heart felt condolences. Jeff and I were classmates from junior high thru high school. He was a friend, and a teammate. The gentle giant --my offensive tackle that I ran behind in junior high. My protector back then. I will remember his laugh, and his kind way. RIP Jeff.

Deb & Family, My condolences go out to you at this time. Jeff's large smile could light up any room. He may have blocked for a few good team's in his stellar high school day's, but, now He's onto the "Great Team In Heaven. " HE'S thrown off the Shackles of this life and left his pain and suffering behind. Our loss will be Heaven's gain, hopefully they will have a uniform big enough to fit his heart. As we read in Matthew 7:13 "We must all enter Heaven thru the narrow gate." Rest in Peace, Jeff Greg Clauson J.H.SCHOOL CLASS OF '77 FOOTBALL TEAM

Deb, please accept my heartfelt sorrow at the news of Coach Shaw's passing. I only knew Jeff for a few years but he made a huge impression on me and my family. I have always felt Coach Shaw and the othe MYFA Saints coaches had a huge impact on my son Jay's success in his pursuit of his football career. Jeff was directly responsible for my son obtaining a full scholarship to UNI to play football. Jeff was always so level headed and calm. While I was going crazy during games and practice, I could always look to him for a calming influence. He was so cool but had that look that demanded respect. His sense of humor was incredible. Most of the kids who played MYFA football for him got their nicknames from him. When Jeff’s career took him to Jefferson High School, he had the opportunity to coach with and against his MYFA alums. It was always a pleasure to meet with him at the Xavier and Jefferson football games. I will never forget him and words can’t express my sorrow. I will pray for you and your family and hope Jeff is now at peace. Mike Teply (Coach Tep)

My heart goes out to Jeff's Family. I hope that you can find peace because of the love and bond that you have--which will always be there. In high school Jeff was always larger than life. I worked at the HyVee and he was the friendliest guy that worked there. Everyone knew Jeff and he always had a smile, wave and something positive or goofy to say. He has a place in so many hearts!

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I graduated with Jeff in 1977. We played football together he was one of my lineman that opened some big holes for me while I ran the ball (#22). I am proud to have known Jeff and the friendship we had through high school. He will be dearly missed.

I met Jeff on the field at Kingston Stadium during the Blue/White pre season scrimmage in August of 1976. I entered the game as a 135 LB free safety and Jeff was playing offensive tackle. On the first play, a run from scrimmage out of the Houston Veer, Jeff came out and leveled me. I jumped up and he leveled me a second time. I popped back up and he dropped me a third time all on the same play. The next morning during the film session Coach Fisk who loved a great blocker played it over and over and the entire room was laughing in the dark of the locker room. After the session Jeff sought me out of the crowd and apologized. What a great football player and what an incredible guy ! Prayers are up tonight for Jeff Shaw.
