Carl Napier

Carl Rudolf Napier passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Manorcare, Davenport, Iowa. He was 98 years old. Carl was born in Springfield, Illinois on November 24, 1917 to August and Louisa (Dudda) Napierski.

In his career Carl was a machinist, tool, and die maker and a tool designer. He worked in the Quad Cities for several machine shops and Swan Engineering. Carl also lived and worked in Chicago, Illinois and Denver, Colorado. After living and working in Las Vegas, Nevada for 35 years, Carl returned to Davenport in 2006 due to failing health. Those who knew Carl would attest to his superior love for life of all kinds.

Carl is survived by a son Steven (Nancy) Napier, Davenport, IA; grandchildren David Napier, Blue Grass, IA, Andrew (Alicia) Napier, Bushnell, IL, Michelle (John) Wayne, Oskaloosa, Iowa and Christopher Trelstad, Benttendorf, IA; Several great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and a sister Betty (Jerry) Benson, Hay Market, Virginia.

Carl was preceded by wife Bernice (Wulf) Napier, son David Napier, brothers and sisters, Gus, William, Henry, Helen (Johnson), Margaret (Pennington) and Richard.

Arrangements are pending at Iowa Cremation/Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A private service for immediate family will be held at a later date.

Family wishes to thank Manorcare nurses and staff for the kind and loving care Carl received.
