Ira Wade Hayes
Ira Wade Hayes, 85, died on Wednesday June 29, 2016 at Arbor Court Care Center, Mt. Pleasant, IA. He went home to our Heavenly Father to join the love of his life Doris, his wife of 61 wonderful years.
He born February 5, 1931, in Moravia, IA. At a young age they moved to a farm by Kinross, IA. After graduating from Kinross High School, Wade enlisted in the Air Force. After his tour, he went to work for John Deere & Company in Waterloo were he completed a Tool & Die apprenticeship. Wade worked as a Tool Maker and eventually went into supervision. Wade retired after 31 years of service with John Deere.
Wade enjoyed the outdoors by fishing, hunting, and golfing where he had multiple holes in one. He also loved woodworking and gave most of his projects to family and friends. God was very much a part of his life being trustee, deacon and elder at several churches throughout his life.
He is survived by son David and his wife Barbara, and Daniel and his wife Linda.
Also surviving are grandchildren; David Jr., Lawanda, Matthew, Susan and Keith Wipert, Jed and Meagan, Wendy and Marc Harris, great grandchildren; Jasmine, Dedrick, Rachel, Mady, Nolan, David III, Danielle, Ayden and Rylee.
