Junior E. Findlay, 91 of Waukee passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at home.

 

Junior Ellsworth Findlay was born on March 22, 1925 to George and Margaret (Talbott) Findlay in Selma, Iowa.  He was united in marriage to Olive Wells on August 24, 1947 in Batavia, Iowa.

 

Junior and Olive built a farming life together.  They began their life together in Arizona and then came back to Iowa, eventually settling in Collins, farming for 43 years.

 

Junior had many hobbies, but learning to fly and owning a plane was number one.  Junior and Olive enjoyed many trips across the USA in their plane.

 

Junior is survived by his loving wife Olive (Wells) Findlay; his wonderful children, Larraine (Fred) Etnier, Larry (Leanne) Findlay, Janice Findlay, John (Theresa) Findlay, and Lynn (Jim) Wilson; 14 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; as well as his brothers, Richard (Gloria) Findlay and Glen (Lee) Findlay.

 

In death, Junior joins his mother, father, and sister Virginia VanWeelden.

 

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
