Verna G. Schweitzer, 65, of Independence, passed away, Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Buchanan County Health Center, Independence.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the V.F.W. Post #2440, Independence.
Survivors include her husband, Sam; son, Adam (Mellisa) Schweitzer and daughter, Jennifer (John) Bell, all of Independence; grandchildren, Alex Carlson, Olivia Siglin
and Alexis Schweitzer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Verna Gail Shepherd was born November 29, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas the daughter of Clyde & Versa (Henning) Shepherd. She served in the U.S. Marines Corps. On December 22, 1970, she married Samuel Schweitzer in Twenty Nine Palms, California.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
