Maude Jacks

Maude Margaret May Jacks was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 20, 1910.  She died in Des Moines, Iowa on February 12, 2016 at the age of 105 surrounded by her loving family.

Preceding her in death were her parents Walter and Laura May; her sister Anne Douglas; and her brothers Bob, Harold, Kerry, Calvin, and Louie May.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Claude M. Jacks; two daughters Stacia Lorraine Jacks and Corie Ann Mayton; and two sons Charles L. Jacks and Richard F. Jacks.

Left to mourn her passing are two daughters, Kerrilin Bruther of Eminence, Kentucky and Claudia Mattison of Des Moines, Iowa; one son Walter (Mary) Jacks of Minneapolis, Minnesota; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Maude was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  During her lifetime she appeared on live stage in the Passion Play with the Touring Group from Germany.  She appeared on live radio, in the newspaper, and also on Facebook!

She retired from Sears Decorative Studio to join her husband in retirement in St. Petersburg, Florida after having cared for her mother until her mother’s death.  During retirement, she helped care for terminally ill people.  She then moved to Kentucky in 1988 to be with her daughter, Kerrilin, then in 1998 to Minnesota to be with her son Walter and daughter-in-law Mary, and in 2009 to Iowa to make her final home with her daughter Claudia.

The family is extremely grateful to Dr. Tim Vermillion and his wonderful staff for the wonderful care that was shown to our Mom.  And to her nurses and hospice personnel.  If not for you, she wouldn’t have been able to live her last years at home, which is where she wanted to be.

Thank you, and may God bless each and every one of you.  Also to our wonderful sister, Claudia, who took such wonderful care of her each and every day, and to our brother, Walter and his wonderful wife Mary, for the care they gave her.  She loved and appreciated each and every one of you.

Remembrances and memorials may be made to Unity Point Hospice Legacy and Last Wishes Program: 11333 Aurora Avenue, Urbandale, Iowa  50322.

Cremation was chosen.  Services to be in Atlanta, Georgia at a later date.
