Carl L.”Lee” Martinson, 88, of Marion died Friday December 9, 2016 at Linn Manor Care Center in Marion. Per Carl’s request there will be no service. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy, a daughter Renee (Dan) Cudworth of Marion, and three sons, Terry (Katherine) of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Gene (Giselle) of Apollo Beach, Florida and Gregory (Marianne) of Bettendorf. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Carl was born on August 22, 1928 in Watkins, Minnesota the son of Oscar and Emelia Berglund Martinson. He married Patsy C. DeLang on August 16, 1950 in Burlington.
Lee retired as department head of Radiology at Ottumwa Regional Health Care after many years of service. He was the Director of the Hi-Tec Credit Union from 1970 to 1991.
Lee enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, travel, camping and especially the time spent with his beloved family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be given to the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ottumwa or to the American Cancer Society.
