Julia Kay Henkelman

Julia Kay Henkelman, 68, of Manilla passed away on Monday August 29, 2016 at her home.  A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday September 2, 2016 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manilla.

Julia was born on July 15, 1948 in Denison the daughter of John and Lavern (Ewoldt) Kohenkame.  She married Maurice Henkelman on August 22, 1970 in Charter Oak, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jerry.

Left to cherish Julia’s memories are her husband, Maurice, three daughters; Marie (Steve) Wiskus of Manilla, Klynn (Andrew) Chen of Yakima, WA, Tammy (Brian) Bridwell of Story City, three sons; Dan (Danyal) Henkelman of Irwin, Jeff (Stacy) Henkelman of Hartford and Bill (Susan) Henkelman of Dunlap.  Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren; and three brothers.  

She enjoyed raising her family and time with her grandchildren.  Julia also 
Enjoyed going for walks, visiting the occasional casino, cooking and just being with family. After suffering a stroke on June 3rd 2003 Julia still enjoyed going 
Shopping, keeping grandchildren in-line and sitting on the porch.
