Rickey Allen “Pops” Lacey, 62, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, April 3, 2016.
Memorial Services with military honors will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Salvation Army in Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be held on Saturday one hour prior to services.
Rickey was born April 15, 1953 in Iowa City to Elvis and Shirley (Johnson) Lacey. He served honorably in the United States Navy. Following his service, he graduated from culinary school.
Rickey was a man of many trades. He was a great cook, loved to work on cars, and was a dedicated family man.
He is survived by two children: Richelle Bell and Peter Lacey, both of Cedar Rapids; his loving companion, service dog Buddy; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters: Betty Lacey; Rose Dana; Debra (Keith) Olejniczak; and Tina Hartson, all of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Billy Lacey, of Cedar Rapids; uncle Dickey (Joan) Johnson of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents and sister Stella Mullan.
A memorial in Rickey’s name has been established.
