Harlan Utecht
Harlan O. Utecht, 64 of Cedar Rapids died Monday April 25, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. There will be a private family service at Cedar Memorial.
Survivors include his two daughters, Abby Utecht of Cedar Rapids and Amy (Nate) Lefebvre of Bloomington, MN., his mother Carolyn Duffy of Cedar Rapids; an uncle Harold (Diane) Klein of Arizona; his granddaughter Helena Lefebvre and his pet dog Eleanor. He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Sally Rance and a former wife Julie Reihmann.
Harlan was born on July 2, 1951 in Le Mars the son of Oris and Carolyn Klein Utecht. He was a self- employed stock broker in Cedar Rapids for many years.
Harlan enjoyed classic rock music, going to the casino, action and mystery movies and especially the time spent with his beloved family. He was a wonderful son, father, grandfather, and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established.
