Angeline "Grandma" Mary Loiocomo

Angeline “Grandma” Mary Loiocomo went home to Jesus on November 9, 2015.  A memorial mass will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Ave, Des Moines IA 50315 on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. 

She is survived by daughters Debra Loiocomo; Marylou (McNeley) Muir; son Ned (Joe) McNeley;  brother Gino Loiocomo; sister Lucy (Loiocomo) Grant; grandchildren Nick Loiocomo (Annamaria), Jason Muir (Michelle), Jessica McNeley and Tyler (TJ) McNeley; as well as 12 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents Giuseppe and Louisa Loiocomo; daughter Theresa Diane McNeley; and 13 brothers and sisters. 

Grandma was born September 9, 1932 in Sault St. Marie Canada. She immigrated to the United States in 1959 where she resided with her family in Goshen, Indiana. She later moved to Des Moines in 1965 where she lived the remainder of her life.  She became a United States citizen on September 17, 2010.    

Grandma was a Legal Secretary for the Legal Aid Society for 30 years.  She was a member of the Legal Secretary Society and was voted Legal Secretary of the year.  She was also actively involved with the Society of Italian American Women and served as President.  In her free time Grandma loved to crochet, knit, and spend time with her family.  

Grandma's humor and sarcasm will be missed by everyone that loved her.
