Mary A. Morris, 84, of Independence died March 6, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 14 at the American Lutheran Church, 522 Purdy Street Jesup, Iowa.
Mary was born July 25, 1930 in rural Jackson County to Nettie Rannals Massey and Elman Massey. She married Jacob Brenner July 1947 and later divorced. She married William T. Morris September 1958. She retired from Chamberlain, Waterloo, IA.
Mary loved to travel, she visited 49 states, all except Hawaii. She enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, music, and planning events at the care center. Above all her family was her greatest joy.
Survivors include children; Ken (Jackie) Brenner, Moline, IL, Dan (Sandy) Brenner, Dubuque, IA, William Clay (Sue) Morris, Cedar Falls, IA, Sharon (Joe) Amling, Jesup, IA, Kathleen Anderson, Littleton, IA, Kim (Jerry) Broders, DeWitt, IA, Rod Morris, Mt. Auburn, IA. Brother, Carl Massey, Snohomish, WA. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Morris, son Daniel Morris, brother Jackie Massey, sisters Vivian Potter, Helen Smith, and Elma Nelson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the National Parkinson Foundation and the American Lutheran Church 522 Purdy Street Jesup, Iowa.
