Kenneth Duane Walters, 83, of Grundy Center, Passed away March 20, 2015 at the Grundy County Hospital Long Term Care Unit.  Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Bethany Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall in Grundy Center and services will be 10:30 AM Friday at Bethany Presbyterian Church.

Kenny was born August 15, 1931 the Son of Herman E. Martha (Bergman) Walters at his parents’ home in rural Grundy County.  He received his education at Pleasant Valley #5.  He served in the US Navy from June 26, 1952-June 5,1956 on the USS Toledo.  On May 16, 1958 Kenny married Martha (Marty) Wubbena at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.  He farmed in Grundy Center until March.  In 1973, when they moved to Grundy Center where he worked at Mid Equipment as a welder until its closing.  He then began trucking until his retirement in 2003.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Martha (Marty) and children, Karen (Dean) Shuey of Grundy Center, Becky (John) Billerbeck of Reinbeck, Les (Lisa) Walters of New Sharon and Neal (Michelle) Walters of Reinbeck.  Grandchildren Jodi (Chris) Schick, Zach (Lacy) Tripp, Doug Shuey, Brian Shuey, Annastasia (Derrick) Hoch, Kassie Billerbeck (Casey Cooke), Jacob Walters and Aidan Walters and 7 great-grandchildren, Alex, Bryce and Kristin Schick, Abigail, Evan and Ellie Tripp and Barrett Cooke.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Duane Patterson, great-grandchildren Isaiah and Briella Tripp, nephew, David Patterson.

Memorial donations may be directed to the family or Cedar Valley Hospice.
