Harold J. Wheeler, 83, of Morning Sun passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the VA Health Care System in Iowa City.  Memorial services will be held on Sunday March 15 at 4 PM at United Methodist Church, Morning Sun.  Visitation will be from 2 to 4 PM at the Church.

Harold Jack Wheeler was born on May 17, 1931 to Harold and Roxy Wilson Wheeler in Morning Sun, Iowa.  After graduating from Morning Sun High School, he enlisted in the US Army where he proudly served during the Korean Conflict.  Harold was united in marriage to Marjorie Jamison on June 20, 1954 in Wapello.  Together they farmed for 33 years.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Morning Sun, Masonic Lodge #5 in Wapello and the American Legion Post #112.  He was a past school board member and enjoyed reading, collecting John Deere memorabilia and tractors, baseball and German shepherd dogs.
 
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie; daughters, Roxanne (Bill) Spearman of Morning Sun and Rosalind (Joe) Conrad of Iowa City; grandchildren, Megan (Cisco) Silva and Jeremy Martin; and 6 great grandchildren; Adrian, Riley, Naya, Dalton, Dakota and Sadie Silva

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry.

Memorial donations may be directed to the American Legion Post 112 and Morning Sun Community Ambulance Service.
