Dick D. Werkman

Dick was a passionate supporter of Foods Resource Bank, which raises funds through U.S. community "growing projects" to assist poor farmers overseas in growing their own food, earning incomes, and living happier, healthier, more hopeful lives. Dick was the leader of FRB’s Wellsburg IA growing project, and as long as his health permitted he was instrumental in inspiring other farmers to "grow lasting solutions to hunger." The Wellsburg project made their proceeds available to FRB to fund agriculture development programs (rather than “food aid”) with people in need around the globe. It is because of compassionate people like Dick that Foods Resource Bank has been able to serve over a million people in some of the world's most challenging environments. We send our sincerest condolences to Dick's family and community, with our thanks to Dick for his generous heart.
