Connie Hinrichs, 61, of Anamosa went to be with her Savior on March 4, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by her family.

Connie was born November 13, 1953 in Monticello, Iowa.  She graduated from Anamosa High School in 1972.  She married Dennie Hinrichs on November 11, 1972.  She was blessed to be able to raise their three children at home.  She then worked for the Department of Transportation and later retired from the Anamosa State Penitentiary.  After retirement she became a Master Gardener.  Her greatest love was her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Dennie; three children, Michelle (Corey) Smith of Anamosa; Chad (Julie) Hinrichs of Marion; Angie (Brian) Hinrichs of Anamosa.  Her five grandchildren; Lacey, Caden, Noah, Keira and Kyle.  Her mother Shirley Schoon.  Her sisters and brothers; Diane (Bob) Miller, FL; Randy Schoon, FL; Pat Potuznik, TN; Doug Schoon, FL; Bruce Schoon, MN. 

Connie will be remembered for her positive attitude, her talent for decorating, her passion for her yard, using her gardening skills and especially her beautiful smile and infectious laugh.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be directed to the Connie Hinrichs Memorial Fund at Fidelity Bank in Anamosa, 107 S. Garnavillo Street.  

Visitation will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 201 N. Ford Street, Anamosa on Monday, March 9th from 4 to 8 pm.  Funeral will be held at St. Paul’s on Tuesday, March 10 at 10:30 AM.
