James "Jim" Drenkhahn
James (Jim) Eric Drenkhahn, 80, of Hiawatha, passed away June 30, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Jim was born January 19, 1935 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Raymond and Eileen (Reinking) Drenkhahn. He retired from Cedar Rapids Dodge as a car salesman in 1997.
For many years Jim loved going up to his second home in Guttenberg for boating and
fishing. He was always the life of the party. He loved to spend time outdoors planting
flowers around the yard. He also loved selling cars and working with all his co-workers
and customers.
He is survived by his children Kathy O'Connell (Mike) of Cedar Rapids and Jay (Jyl) Drenkhahn of Marion; granddaughter Delaney Drenkhahn of Marion; his sister Joan (Lyle) Hanson of Midland, MI; cousin Dick (Ginny) Mohr, who was like a brother, and his best friend and companion, his dog, Toby. A special thanks to Marilyn Drenkhahn.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Drenkhahn, who passed in 1975; and his son, Kenny who passed in 1982.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
