Donald Buchtela
Donald W. Buchtela, 85, a resident of Manor Care died there on Saturday June 27, 2015. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters Ronda Buchtela of Urbana, Kelly Buchtela of Rowley, a son Duane Buchtela of Vinton and 4 sisters. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn and a daughter Susan Teel.
Don was born on September 5, 1929 in Vinton the son of William and Jeanette Mitchell Buchtela. He married Evelyn Boyles on May 22, 1959 in Iowa City. Evelyn passed away in 2010.
Don was a truck driver for D.C. Taylor and Gee Grading and Excavation for many years. He proudly served in both the Army and Navy. Don enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, watching western movies and especially the time spent with his family and many friends.
A memorial fund has been established in Don’s name.
