Dale P. Hollander, 61, of Ames, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at his home. Memorial services will be held _at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 1517 Northwestern Ave, Ames, IA on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 2 p.m.
Dale Peter Hollander was born on May 23, 1954 to Amos and Betty Nielson Hollander in Hartley, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Betty Harms on August 24, 1973 in Sioux City, Iowa. The Hollanders lived in Spencer until 2000 when they moved to Ames to be near family. Dale worked as a mechanic and did maintenance work for Vander Haags, Con Struct, and recently Almaco. Dale enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, traveling, tinkering on cars and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Jennifer and her husband Jamie Butenhoff; his mother, Betty Hollander; his sister June and husband Richard Miller, and brothers Nels (Shirley), Danny (Connie), and Marvin; and 3 grandchildren Zachary, Erika and Kaylee Butenhoff.
Dale was preceded in death by his father and his brother Raymond.
