Obituary for Brigitte T. Naperkowski

Brigitte T. Naperkowski, 60, of Ottumwa died on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center.

Brigitte Theresia Naperkowski was born on November 9, 1954 to Rüdolf and Gertraüd Schick Naperkowski in Bamberg, Germany. She married Randy Nielson when she was 16 and moved with her husband to the US when she was 19. From this union, two daughters were born. She received an A.A. from Indian Hills Community College. She worked for many years at Hormel/Excel in Ottumwa. She stopped working in 2008 and loved being a grandma “Oma” since 2009. She spent half of her time with her daughter, son-in-law, and her grandchildren and the other half enjoying her time at home and the serenity of her beautiful yard. She will be forever remembered as a very giving, strong, and smart mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah (Reece) Murphey of Grundy Center; her mother, Gertraüd Naperkowski of Germany; her grandchildren, Wyatt, Walker, and Willow Murphey; her brothers, Reinhold, Waldemar, Gerhard, Roland, Detlef, Egon, Stefan, and Roman Naperkowski all of Germany.

Brigitte was preceded in death by her father; daughter, Rachel Nielson; brothers, Karl Heinz Naperkowski and Jürgen Naperkowski; and sisters, Hildegard and Lugeboug Naperkowski.
