James Robert Stella, 65, of Oelwein, passed away July 7, 2015 at his home in Oelwein.
Memorial services will be July 13, 2015 at the Christ United Presbyterian Church at 10:30am in Oelwein, IA. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
James was born July 23, 1949 in Oelwein to Melvin and Ruth (Smith) Stella. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Maguire on May 23, 2005. He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1967. He attended Upper Iowa and the University of Iowa.
James was a salesman for Slumberland for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and canoeing. He also loved reading, music, detailing cars, and golfing.
James is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Oelwein, IA; children Lonnie (Sandy) Maguire of Almont, MI, Stacie (Joe) Green of Bedford, IN, and Dee (Jill) Maguire of Oelwein, IA; grandchildren Katie (Robert) Burlingame of St. Clair Shores, MI, Amanda (Shannon) Parks of Freeland, MI, Brittany (Jordan) Brown of Chesaning, MI, Jason Green of Bedford, IN, and Jack Green of Bedford, IN; great-grandchild Wyatt Parks; brother-in-law Jim(Linda) Gilson; and sister-in-law Marian Ohl.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Ruth Stella.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
