Roger Lee Lynch

Roger Lee Lynch, 83, passed on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Grundy Memorial Hospital Long Term Care.

Roger was born February 14, 1931 to Claude and Alice (Meyers) Lynch in RR Morrison, IA. He graduated from Dike High School. Roger served in the Navy for 4 years and was a Korean War Veteran. He returned to Dike to live for the next 35 years.

He married Mary Joy, they had 3 children together. She passed away in 2008.

He married Ramona Shatzer, she passed away in 1992.

Roger worked for Rath Packing, Carnation, and spent the majority of his years working for the USPS in Cedar Falls, IA. He really enjoyed his customers on his mail route. He was interested in genealogy, was proud of his Irish roots. He loved to fish, had a big interest in Arrowheads and Indian artifacts. He liked to read and spend time with his pets, namely Daisy and Hannah, two of his dogs in his later years.

Roger is survived by his 3 children, Deb Toben,  Dianna (Roy) Helmers and Todd Lynch; 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren; friend, Elaine Matthews; 2 Brothers, Larry Heid and Jim Heid; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather Leo Heid and one brother Robert Lynch.

Memorials may be made to the Non Profit Pet Rescue where he adopted his dog Hannah from, Agape Fosters in care of Diann Helmers 20744 W Ave Reinbeck, IA 50669.
