Kenneth Dewayne Bascom
Kenneth Dewayne Bascom, 79, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Cremation rights have been accorded. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.
Kenneth is survived by two sons, Dewayne (Christine) Veverka and Larry (Alicia) Bascom; grandchildren: Cody Bascom; Reno, Nico, and Sierra Veverka; Avery Bascom; and Kane Lambert; brothers: Fred, Eugene, and Richard Bascom; as well as sisters Sarah Dravis and Ruth Conger.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Bascom and Mildred Davis; son Randy Bascom; and brother Bob Bascom.
Kenneth was born on July 11, 1936 in Vinton, Iowa. He was a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids. Kenneth worked as a truck driver owner-operator for numerous companies throughout his life.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
He lost his battle with cancer after a courageous fight.
