Irene Ann Hohnecker

Irene A. Schueller-Hohnecker, 70, formally of 811 Hawkeye Drive #201, passed away into eternal life on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Crestview Acres, in Marion with family by her side. 

Arrangements are pending at Iowa Cremation, in Cedar Rapids. A private family memorial and burial will be held at a later date. 
Irene was born on March 5, 1945 in Dubuque, daughter of Albert "Ollie" and Margaret (Stoffel) Schueller. She obtained her high school diploma from the Visitation in Dubuque in 1963. She then worked for the Treasurer Office at the Dubuque County Courthouse up until her retirement. 

She enjoyed in her free time making ceramics, and crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed going and playing bingo and going to the casinos. Her greatest passion was to help people and especially spending time with her family and her grandchildren. 

Surviving to honor her memory are her three sons, Greg (Trish) Hohnecker of Peosta, Gary (Noelle) Hohnecker of Alaska, and Glenn (Jessica) Hohnecker of Asbury; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; her former husband, Ronald (Elaine) Hohnecker of Dubuque; a sister, Connie Schueller of Dubuque and a sister-in-law, Carol Schueller of Dubuque. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Daniel Schueller and Gerald Schueller; a sister, Janet Waul and a brother-in-law, James Waul. 

Irene's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Mercy Hospital in Dubuque for their compassionate care during Irene's few hospitalizations, the staff at Enoble Manor in Dubuque and the staff at Crestview Acres in Marion; especially nurse Sondra
