Doris Elaine Momberg, 83, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton, Iowa.
Per Elaine’s wishes, her body has been cremated and a graveside memorial service and inurnment will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls.
Elaine was born October 6, 1931, in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Edward and Doris (Short) Johnson. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1950. She married Donald Momberg at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa on August 28, 1964.
Elaine was a talented artist and seamstress, a lifelong-learner and dedicated caregiver to her daughters and family members. Her faith was important to her, and she was a member of various Lutheran congregations in the communities where life took her.
Elaine is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Todd) Lettow of Hampton, and Mary (Don) Taylor of Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren, Erin and Mitch Lettow; two brothers, Bill Johnson of Norwalk, California and Gale Johnson of Cedar Falls; and a sister, Margaret Grisel of Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Don; sister, Sandra Johnson; and twin brother, Eddie Johnson.
