Donald Carl Ruff, age 79, of Dubuque, Iowa died Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Unity Point Finley Hospital. Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
Donald was born February 19, 1936 in Dubuque to Charles Herman and Alma Katherine (Stecklein) Ruff. He was one of eleven children.
Donald worked most of his life as a self-employed interior painter. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” (Harry) Heins of Monona, Iowa; son, Brian (Mickey) Ruff of Onalaska, Wisconsin; three grandchildren; Tristan, Ashley and Nicole; siblings Elaine Rapp, Phillip (Shirley), and Wilma (Jack) Dirks; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, and wife Mary Jane.
Services will be held at a later date.
