Calvin Roger Brinkerhoff

Calvin Roger Brinkerhoff, 90, went to live in Heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospice surrounded by loved ones.  Per his wishes, there will be a private family gathering to celebrate his life.  He was a proud veteran of WWII and will be buried with military honors at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel.

He was born in Sioux City on March 7, 1925 and was the last survivor of eight children.  Cedar Rapids has been his home for the last five years, in order to be near his loving family.  He is survived by his four children: Jim (Luwonna), Leanne (Michael) McDaniel, Marilyn (Ed) Sebastian, and Steven (Brenda); as well as thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family would like to give a sincere thank you and blessing to all his wonderful, loving caregivers throughout the last three years.
