Arnold Seitz

Arnold Francis Seitz, age 78, of Cascade, Iowa passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Stonehill Care Center.

Arnold was born December 27, 1936, in Dubuque to Raymond and Aileen (Takes) Seitz.  Arnold was a man of few words who showed his deep care and concern for others through his actions.  He spent a great deal of time with his family in the great outdoors.  Camping trips, picnics and hikes in the woods are how he is best remembered.  There is nothing Arnie loved more than taking his kids and grandkids to the Dairy Queen in his classic Cadillac.  He also enjoyed estate sales and auctions, collecting old tools and curiosities. He was a proud patriot, serving in the United States Air Force and several of his children also chose military service.  He never missed a Memorial Day parade, sitting on the front porch, proudly displaying the flag.  Arnold was a lifelong member of the Cascade Knights of Columbus.  For many years He owned a dry cleaning business in Monticello, Iowa.   After his retirement he and his wife, Carol, moved to Assisi Village in Dubuque, IA.

Left to cherish Arnold’s memory are his wife of 54 years Carol Seitz; his son, Gary and daughter-in-law Dai Li and grandchildren, Jillian and Adrianna; his son, David and grandchildren, Samantha (Jordan)Lynch and Michael Seitz, Ashley (Stephen) Short and Hannah White; his son, Steven and grandchildren, Scott, Cathy and Chelsea and great grandson Colby Creger; his son, Peter and daughter-in- law, Joan and grandchildren, Molly, Margaret and Raymond; his daughter, Jean and son-in-law, Greg and grandchildren, Kaitlin, Jack and Samuel Moore.
