My deepest condolence to Laurie's family. I knew Laurie through my employement at Integra Health. She was a bright and beautiful person who I olooked forward to see. She will be greatly missed. She had a beautiful smile and personality.

I lived very close to Laurie in Brainerd and I soooo looked up to her, first because she was so tall, and also she was my cheerleading captain, and she was very smart !!!! We reconnected on Facebook and that is where I learned of her battle with cancer. Laurie was a warhorse in many ways.....a fighter to the end...so wish I could have seen her one last time at the class reunion. Like I told her in one of my last posts to her.....to be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord 2corinthians 5:8

To Lori's Family--I was so saddened to learn of Lori's passing--it's been a few years since I've seen her, so I was unaware she was Ill. Lori and I were peers in the Pharma industry...she was a class act~~ I enjoyed running into her and catching up on the latest in our lives. Her genuine warmth and love of life always left me walking away feeling like a better person. God Bless you all as you say goodbye, she was taken way too soon. Gloria Greenwood, Urbandale, IA

Of all the people I have ever met, Laurie had the greatest impact on me. I admired her more than any other person. So many of the themes of her life about pure and good and just causes resonated in me like a tuning fork. She had a way of distilling ideas that no one else had. But most of all she had tremendous capacity for life and all that it meant. Every time I met Laurie she brought out the very best in me. I just wish she could have lived for decades longer. I will really miss her, but I will never forget her, or her smile, or her zest for life.

Thinking of all of you with a heavy heart! I've known Laurie since the 4th grade at Whittier School. Not until recently, after the 40th class reunion, did we re-connect. I know she had a GREAT time at the reunion in 2012 - it was very evident!! I was fortunate to share some special time with her at Dales funeral in early August - I believe we both knew it was our last good-bye that day; I will treasure that memory. Laurie was a lady to admire. I will remember her always??

My thoughts and prayers go out to Laurie's family. It has been a long, tough haul for you guys of late, and I can only hope there is peace in our hearts and that the loving memory of this remarkable person endures in your hearts. I have so many vivid and cherished memories of Laurie along with the gang of cousins on the Nathan farms during the summer. She was adventuresome without losing a sense of responsibility -- just enough daring-do and goofiness to have fun without really making a mess of things.

We will miss your mother, she was a special lady. We had many good times with her in Scouts and will always treasure the friendship we had with her and all of you. God Bless you all and comfort you in your time of grief. Sincerely, Peter & Jeanie Redl

Words can not express the deep sadness over hearing of her passing. At least she won't be suffering, but unfortunately the rest of us will be. Laurie was a great woman that wouldn't want us to be sad or worry about her. She was, is and always will be a driving force in my life. I hope you as her family are able to move on without her physical guidance but know that she will always be there in spirit.

I check the Brainerd obits now and then as I spent so many years there, and to see Laurie's photo there was a shock. I live in Spokane, WA now and don't see any one that I grew up with anymore. Laurie was such a truly wonderful person. I just remember her always smiling. I'm so sorry that she has passed. I wish her family all the best.

I have always loved Laurie's beautiful smile, love of life , love of others and her devotion to her family. When our children were young they would play together and we have so many fond memories of our times together. Laurie blessed the lives of all she came in contact with. I will remember her for her making this world a better place. She will be missed. Our love and prayers are with the family during this time of great loss.

My memories of Laurie are first as a 10 year-old girl with long legs and a big smile, who stole the hearts of all the boys at Whittier Elementary School, and who could outrun them too; and then as a junior high and high school young woman who always seemed sophisticated beyond her years, but befriended everyone. I’ve only seen Laurie once since we graduated together from Brainerd High in 1972, but it doesn’t seem possible that she’s been taken from this world so early. What a loss! I know that she is deeply missed by everyone she touched in life.

Laurie was a wonderful woman who produced and raised four magnificent children. I had the pleasure of attending college and serving in the Army with three of them. My deepest condolences to her family and all those that knew her.

Dear loved ones. I am so grieved at the passing of your precious Mom! I am her friend who just moved back from Colorado and we had a GREAT time during her work with Pfizer. We always had a rollicking good time. I loved her selfless loving spirit which thrived to the very end! Blessings to all of you and I honor you so much for the way that you were by her side the entire time loving her and caring for her. Her laughter and beautiful spirit will live on forever! Blessings
