Donna Mae Dunkel age, 79 passed away Wednesday September 17, 2014 in her home surrounded by her family.  

A Celebration of life will be held 4:00pm on Sunday September 21, 2014 at New Covenant Bible Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

Surviving is her husband of 59 years Louis; her 4 children Daughter Sheryl (Dan) Ray of Cedar Rapids and their children Amanda Ray, Melissa (Matt) Maiers their children Mason and Blake, Nicole (John) Monk their child Owen, Daughter Joanie (Nick) Miller of Shellsburg and their child Roxelle (Clayton) Jacobs, Son Dean Dunkel of Cedar Rapids and his children Ryan and Dustin Dunkel, Son Dennis Dunkel of Cedar Rapids, and his children Amanda (Kevin) Dague and children Josie, Gavin and Kaleb, Cheri Berggren; Many Nieces, Nephews and Friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters Edith Anderson, Clayton Harger and Arless Harger. 

Donna Mae Dunkel was born March 8, 1935 in Iowa City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Everett and Letha Nietert Harger. On January 11, 1955 Donna and Louis Dunkel were united in marriage in Iowa City, Iowa. Donna was a LPN for many years. 

She was a member of New Covenant Bible Church for more than 20 years. She was an Awana club leader. She enjoyed Scenic Travel, crochet, camping, trout fishing, canning, arrowhead hunting, an avid reader and lover of pets. But the thing she treasured most was the time she was given to spend with her family and loved ones. She was a loving wife, mother grandmother sister and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
