Alice P. Petersen

Alice P. Petersen, 95, of Waterloo, Iowa passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014 at her home with her family by her side. Per Alice’s wishes her body has been cremated. Memorial services are pending.
 
Alice was a graduate of Hudson Consolidated High School with the class of 1935 and a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) in 1939 with a Bachelor Degree in Business Education. She taught school in Whittemore and Center Point, Iowa, and worked in Washington D.C. for the War Production Board during World War II. Later she worked in CPA offices in Los Angeles, Calif. and Waterloo. She retired in 1980 from the offices of the Natural Silo Association. 
 
Alice is survived by two sons, Lyle Petersen of Waterloo, Glen and wife Marcia Petersen of West Okoboji, Iowa; two granddaughters, Emily Petersen and friend Kevin Foor of Coralville, Iowa, and Rebecca and husband A. G. and great grandson Aiven Wilson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and two sisters Ruth Iseminger of St George, Utah and Neva Johansen of Cedar Falls. 
 
She is preceded in death by her husband Howard Petersen in 2002, a son Dennis Petersen in 1990, two brothers and two sisters. 
 
Memorial donations may be directed to Care Initiatives Hospice, 6915 Chancellor Drive, Suite A, Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613.
