Ruby R Greenwood, age 86 of West Des Moines Iowa died October 21, 2014 at Manor Care of West Des Moines. Ruby previously lived in Montezuma, Iowa.
Ruby was born July 13, 1928 in Des Moines, Iowa to Humphrey and Donzella (Farmer) Bray. She graduated from North High School. She was united in marriage to Vernard Greenwood on December 28, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa. She retired from U.S. West in 1983, after 30 years of service.
Ruby is survived by her five children: Donald Greenwood of Bevington, Ia.; Patricia (Duane) Sharp of The Villages, Fl.; Peggie (Dale) Rupp, William (Tammy) Greenwood, and Dale (Melissa) Greenwood, all of Des Moines. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Ward, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vernard, her grandson Joseph, her brother George, and her parents.
Memorial Services will be held Sunday, November 2, at 1:00 P.M. at Montezuma Presbyterian Church, with burial Monday, November 3, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Pine Hill Cemetery.
