M.C. "Joe" Rayer

My heartfelt sympathies to you and your family. I have known Joe for many years thorough the Downtowners Watts of Talk Toastmasters Club in Cedar Rapids. Joe was always an optimistic spirit, full of ideas and energy. He displayed such a great wit and strong character and loved to get in grand joke or story! Me and my family are blessed to have known such a great person. Please accept our condolences and know my family’s thoughts and prayers are with you all ~

I became aquatinted with Joe in 1983 when I was hired as the Educational Service Director at Grant Wood AEA. Mr Rayer was the "computer guy" and when technology at that time was rapidly changing he was a very valuable asset to the area school districts. Joe was always available to help anyone whether it was teachers just beginning to learn computer skills or local school administrators needing guidance with their budgets. What really stood out about Joe was his sincere willingness to help people and his caring "smiling" personality! Mick Mc Niel
