Jeannie Kay Bucknell, 60, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 at her home.  Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6 from 5 to 8 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia.  Memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at the church.
                Jeannie was born February 17, 1954 in Cresco, Iowa to Vernie and Edith Alberts.  She grew up on a farm outside of Chester, Iowa and was very proud of being a farm girl.  She attended Chester Elementary and Cresco High School.  In 1971, she married Bradley Bucknell and to this union two sons were born, Shannon and Wade.
                Jeannie spent most of her life taking care of people.  She operated her own daycare, worked for Fayette County Public Health , Palmer Hospital as a Home Care Provider and Hospice.  She also managed Godfather’s Pizza and also had her own Private Home Health Care.  Jeannie loved her family, friends, and helping people.
                Jeannie is survived by her loving, devoted husband, Bradley; also two precious sons and 6 grandchildren: Shannon (Kiersten) Bucknell and their children Laikyn, Liesl, Sullivyn, and Teddy of West Branch, IA; Wade (Danielle) Bucknell and their children Blythe & Easton of Waukon, IA.  Jeannie is also survived by two great brothers, Jim (Sheryl) Alberts of Fairbanks, IA; Tom (Evie) Alberts of Deer Park, WA; three great sisters, Nancy (Merle) Tucke of Chester, IA; Pam (Jeff) Wendel of Chester, IA; and Brenda (Pete) Dohlman of Riceville, IA; her mother-in-law Shirley Bucknell of LeRoy, MN, four brother-in-laws: Bruce(Linda) Bucknell of Stewartville, MN; Harlan(Pat) Bucknell of Spring Valley, MN, Craig(Deb) Bucknell of LeRoy, MN, and Bryan Bucknell of LeRoy, MN.   Also dear to her heart, she is survived by many nieces and nephews.
                Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents Vernie & Edith Alberts and father-in-law, Virgil Bucknell of LeRoy, Minnesota.
