Robert "Bob" Joseph Seddon

Robert “Bob” Joseph Seddon, 71, formally of Mystic, Iowa, passed away on Friday March 28, 2014, at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

Bob was born September 2, 1942, the son of Paul “Pard” and LaVerna Seddon in Detroit, Michigan. He attended school in Mystic, Iowa. Bob married Beverly Ann Simmons on February 13th, 1963. Together they had one daughter, Brenda Knight, and one foster son, Mike Thomas. They made their home in Mystic, Iowa for 51 years. Bob worked road construction as a young man and later worked at L & W Quarries for 19 years as an end loader operator. 

Bob loved his family. He took great joy in his children and grandchildren. He had three grandchildren, Macey Tipton, Jamie Mullenix and Kasey Knight.  Bob also had one great-granddaughter, Josie Tipton.  Bob also enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and, in his day, a cold beer. 

Bob will be dearly missed. He is survived by his father Pard Seddon of Mystic, IA, wife Bev Seddon currently of Unionville, MO, daughter Brenda (Brad) Knight of Unionville, MO, granddaughters Macey (Clint) Tipton of Newtown, MO, and Jamie Mullenix (Jake Estep) of Blue Springs, MO, grandson Kasey Knight of Lawrence, KS, and great-granddaughter Josie Tipton of Newtown, MO. He is also survived by a sister Pauline Cole, sister-in-law Mary Kay (Don) Dupont, sister-in-law Joyce Seddon, and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
 
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, LaVerna Seddon, brother, Paul J. Seddon, foster son, Mike Thomas, mother-in-law, Dorothy (Richard) Welch, and father-in-law, Donald Simmons. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at 1:30 pm at the Mystic Community Church in Mystic, IA.  Memorial is suggested to go to the preservation of the Mystic Community Church.
