Emerson Hough

Emerson Hough died at the age 87 March 6 at Mercy Hospital from a sudden illness. 

Emerson grew up on a farm in Mallard, Iowa. He was one of 10 children. At a young age he enlisted into the Navy during WWII, he served on the USS Essex CV9.

Emerson married Alice Schumacher, they had 11 children and divorced years later. He married Geraldine Powers September 1, 1984. Geraldine had 5 children. They would have celebrated 30 years together.
After the war he worked on the railroad as a laborer laying track, then worked at Pinicon & Ford for 20 years, then retired from Cargill after 20 years.

He was a member of the American Legion, Walker, Iowa.
Emerson was well know for his delicious cookies and spaghetti sauce, he also loved making Geri breakfast each morning. He will be greatly missed by his wife and furry canine friend 'Honey Bear' along with others who enjoyed his special sense of humor.
