Vance Allen Bissell, 73, of Manchester, Iowa passed away at his home July 6, 2014. As were his wishes, he will be cremated.
Vance is survived by his wife Evelyn Bissell of Manchester, IA; daughters: Betty and Julie Bissell, both of Manchester, IA; siblings: Lois McDowell and Doris Mallicoat both of Manchester, IA, Leo Bissell of Cedar Rapids, IA, Donna Elledge of Edgewood, IA, Pat Spangrove of Anamosa, IA, and Bill Bissell of Labanon, MO; step-daughters: Sarah Gorham of Manchester, IA, and Samantha Thierry of Horricane, WV; and several step-grandchildren and step great grand-children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bonnie Hamlette, brother Dale Bissell, and grandson Rick Bissell.
Vance Allen Bissell was born July 7, 1940 to Lee Arthur and Ada Louise (Sauerbry) Bissell in Volga, Iowa. Vance worked at the West Delaware Schools for 22 ½ years. On August 21, 2009, he married Evelyn Violet Elledge in Manchester, IA. Vance was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
