Stephanie Rae Grissom

Stephanie Rae (Buck) Grissom, age 58, of Marion, passed away on Friday, July 18th with her family by her side after a short – but valiant – fight with cancer.

She was born on January 25, 1956 in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Kenneth and Delphine (Mochal) Buck. She graduated from CR Jefferson High School in 1974, where she met her husband Dennis Wynn Grissom. So much in love, they were married twice in 1976 – once in Elizabeth City, NC and once in Cedar Rapids, IA with family and friends. Stephanie worked for 28 years in the pharmacy at St. Luke’s Hospital, but since retiring had enjoyed life; reading, gardening, and dedicating herself to her family – grandchildren especially.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; children Erin (Israel) Dunn of Madison, WI, Regina Grissom of Cedar Rapids, and Rachel Grissom of Marion; grandchildren Tsion, Josalynn, Camryn, and Colton; sisters Annette (Steve) Kray, Carla (Steve) Stang; brothers Greg (Patty) Buck, Jeff (Lisa) Buck, and Gary Buck; sons-in-law to be Ryan Heasty and Benjamin Currie, and an extended family (both related and unrelated) that blessed her life. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The Grissom’s will be receiving friends and family at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, 4200 1st Avenue NE Cedar Rapids, IA, on Saturday, July 26 from 11am-3pm. A Celebration of Life in honor of Stephanie will take place on Saturday, August 16th at American Legion Post 298, 625 31st St, Marion, IA from 5-9pm. We welcome you to celebrate Stephanie at either occasion, with lots of love and laughter. Condolences can be left at iowacremation.com under ‘Obituaries’.
