Sara Jane Onken of Osage, Iowa went to be with the Lord July 6, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sara was born in Pawnee City, Nebraska on February 24. 1953. Sara was the daughter of the late Glen Charles and Ethel Arlene Coverdell. Sara married David John Onken on October 16, 1970 in Charles City, Iowa. Sara worked as an aide at numerous nursing homes in the area and also drove truck with her husband, David, for a number of years.
Sara is survived by her husband David of 43 years; 3 children: Richard (Sandra) Onken of Orchard, Iowa, Jody of Mason City, Angela (Mike) Dishinger of Osage, Iowa and nine grandchildren that were her pride and joy. Three sisters; Ina (Lavern) Cargill of Grovetown, Georgia, Glenda (Keith) Cargil of Burlington, Kentucky and Sharon (Stanley) Hennigar of Fort Worth, Texas; One brother: Glen (Gloria) Coverdell of Camanche, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family or Hospice of North Iowa.
