Linda Ione Petersen, 66, passed away after a courageous three year fight with cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held at Cornerstone Baptist in Eldridge at 4pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 with a dinner to follow. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
Linda Ione was born March 16, 1948 to Lloyd and Margaret Alice Petersen in Durant, Iowa. She graduated from Wheatland High School in 1966. She was a hard working, dedicated mother who always put her children first. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be remembered for being a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.
She worked for Iowa Mutual and First Trust and Savings Bank. Her final employment was for Handicap Development Center making a difference while helping others. The needs of others always came before her own. She is survived by her children Erin (Paul) Lichtenstein of Grand Mound, IA, Shane (Amy) Knoche, Donahue, IA; grandchildren Madison Knoche, Kaitlyn Knoche, Elle Montegna , Ava Lichtenstein, Jorja Lichtenstein; brothers and sister in laws Dennis and Judy Petersen, Davenport, IA, Edward and Geraldine Petersen, Monmoth, IA, many nieces and nephews and many special friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the family. The donations will be given to the Clarissa Cook Hospice House or the Handicap Development Center.
