Beloved Iowa jazz musician Harry Dale Convey passed away July 19, 2014 with his wife, Susan Gholson by his side.
Inducted into the Iowa Jazz Hall of Fame in 2006, Convey's mesmerizing interpretations of romantic ballads and jazz standards were extraordinary.
Born in Cedar Rapids to James and Mary Murphy Convey, they and seven siblings preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, many nephews and nieces and his wife's large extended family.
He leaves behind his brilliant music and the comforting memory of his heart-warming and radiant smile.
A funeral mass will be at St. Augustin Church, 42nd Street & Grand Ave. Saturday, Sept. 13 at 1 pm, with reception following in Parish Hall.
