Russell "Trash" Ralls

I just now saw the notice online of Russ's death. I am so sorry and my condolences go out to his wife and son Joey. Russ and I met in the late 70's and we quickly became as close as brothers, since we both served in Vietnam with the Marine Corps.I stayed in Cedar Rapids until '89 or so when I moved to the west coast. Russ was the kind of brother who would stand back-to-back with you in a bar fight,or give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. I should of kept in touch, but i didn't,and that is my loss. all that new Russ will miss him as I surely do. Ride on Brother. I love you. CJ

Took me years to write this as I grew up with Russ. He left for the Marine Corps a couple years before I did, eventually, we met up in Hawaii at MCAS Kaneohe. That was the last I saw of him although I did attempt to find him whenever I came home on leave. Our memories and adventures will always lead ve in my mind. His friendship will be cherished. I knew his son Joey as a baby and I’m confident you miss you father as I miss his friendship. Semper Fi my friend and Brother: Rest in Peace.
