Janet Kovarik, 65, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, January 12, 2014 in her home of cancer.
According to her wishes, there will be no services. Please take a moment to remember Janet.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; daughter, Molly Kovarik of Cedar Rapids; son, Andrew (Christiane) Kovarik and his sons Nathan and Arthur of Yaoundé, Cameroon; father, Clifford Neubaum, sister, Terry Eastman, and brother, Jim Neubaum of Denver, CO.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Janet Kay Neubaum was born August 1, 1948 in Spring Valley, Illinois the daughter of Clifford and Lucille (Mussatto) Neubaum. Janet earned her B.A. from Knox College in 1970 and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Iowa in 1975. On June 18, 1971 she married James Kovarik in Galesburg, Illinois. Janet worked as an early childhood school social worker for the Grant Wood Area Education Agency for 30 years.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Helen G. Nassif Community Cancer Center to support its Cook Cancer Wellness Program, 202 10th Street SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
