Donna Kay Hughes Gross, age 63, passed away at her home in West Union, Iowa on January 9, 2014.

 

Donna was born in Postville, Iowa, on July 18, 1951. She was baptized on August 8, 1951 at Frankville Community Presbyterian Church in Frankville, Iowa.  Donna confirmed her faith on May 11, 1965, at Frankville Presbyterian Church.

 

Donna was a farm wife and an EMT.  She worked as a Fayette County Dispatch Supervisor until she and Reggie retired last year.

 

Donna and Reggie were married on May 15, 1993 at Goeken Park in Eldorado.

 

Donna was a wife, mom, step-mom, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She is survived by her husband, Reginald Gross, West Union, Iowa.  Donna is survived by five children:  Tonia (Eric) Courtney,West Des Moines, Iowa; Clint (Krissy) Bodensteiner, Castalia, Iowa; Erik (Tami) Bodensteiner, Castalia, Iowa;  Robert and Amy Gross, Spring Grove, Minnesota;  and Michael (friend, Tamara)  Gross of Denver, Iowa.  She is also survived by her mother, Lilah Hughes, of Postville, Iowa; brothers, Ronald (Linda) Hughes, Luana, Iowa; Ricky (Patty) Hughes, Decorah, Iowa; and a sister Linda (Bruce) Shoening of Tampa Bay, Florida.  She is further survived by sisters-in-law, Jean Gross of Manchester, Iowa, Sarina (Dennis) Chapman of Ankeny, Iowa, and a brother-in-law Lee (Roxie) Gross of Alta Vista, California.

 

Donna is survived by twelve grandchildren, Breanna, Dylan, and Alex Courtney; Brett, Hailey and Brayden Bodesteiner; Tristen and Cody Bodensteiner; Kaitlyn, Adelia, Mya and Madasyn Gross and one great grandson, Bentley Scott Courtney.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Evart Hughes and her brother in law, Duncan Gross.

 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, from 4pm-7pm at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado, Iowa.

 

Memorial Services will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado, Iowa on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 10:30 am with a visitation one hour before the service.
