Darrell D. Mohr, 75, of Miles, IA, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. Per Darrell’s wishes his body has been cremated. A celebration of life with visitation will be held at 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. with funeral sevices and luncheon to follow on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Preston, IA. Father Donald A. Hertges will officiate.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife Margaret; his daughter Connie Horst of Sabula, IA; grandchildren Brittany and Matthew Horst; great grandaughter Raelyn Aller; and brother Dwaine (Shirley) Mohr of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Lanora Mohr, and son Craig Mohr.
Darrell was born on July 15, 1938 in Jackson County the son of Gilbert and Lanora (Peters) Mohr. He was a veteran of the United States Army and married Margaret Mary Stevenson on August 5, 1961 in Charlotte, IA. Darrell was a supervisor for International Paper Company in Clinton for 38 years and retired in 1997. He enjoyed golf, crafts, fishing, woodworking and most of all his family and friends.
