Eunice Doreen Burden
Eunice D. Burden, 87, of Readlyn passed away Wednesday February 12, 2014 at the Waverly Health Center. Per her wishes she has been cremated and a private inurnment will take place at a later date in Wisconsin.
Survivors include four sons; Dan (Sharon) Burden of Hoffman Estates, IL, Dennis (Susie) Burden of Fort Mohave, AZ, Sam (Wanda) Burden of Readlyn, James (Wendy) Burden of Bartlett, IL, two sisters; Edna Chermak of FL, Ann (John) Androsh of FL, two brothers, Howard Walker of WI, Eugene Walker of FL, eight grandchildren; Jamie, Dennis, James, Tim, Kyle, Breanna, Mike, Wendy and three great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband James, her parents and two brothers; George and Leo.
Eunice was born November 27, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI to George and Mary Bell. She married James Burden on June 14, 1943, in Emporia, VA while he was in the service. In addition to their family they raised 24 foster children over the years. They lived in Wisconsin, California and retired in New Mexico. James passed away in December, 2001 and Eunice moved to Florida and finally to Readlyn. She enjoyed music, sewing and cooking.
Memorials may be directed to the family and they will distribute to Eunice’s favorite charities.
