William "Bill" Caldwell

William died peacefully in his home on Thursday December 11.

William (Bill) Caldwell was born June 13, 1927, to Floyd and Mary (Keckler) Caldwell in Jesup, Iowa.  After graduating high school, Bill served in the Navy during WWII before returning to Iowa. On April 21, 1956 Bill married Angela Krizan.  They had one daughter, Linda.  The couple resided in Davenport where Bill worked for an international Harvester Dealership until his retirement.  In 1994, the couple moved to Cedar Rapids to be closer to their daughter and her family.

Bill had such a calm and steady way that drew people to him.  His care and love of family and friends along with his love for fishing is what he’ll most be remembered for.  In addition, Bill was a life-long fan and supporter of Iowa sports, cheering them on until the very end.  He will be greatly missed by many.

Bill is survived by his wife, Angela, his daughter Linda (Larry) Walderbach, granddaughters Kaitlyn and Callie Raine and great-granddaughter Zari Raine.

The family will have a small service and burial of the cremains at a future date at Ft. Snelling.  A celebration of life will also be held at Cedar Rapids at a future date.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
