Delores Anderson

Delores J. Anderson, 80, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully on Friday December 5, 2014 in St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by her family. A private graveside service and inurnment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Delores is survived by her daughters; Wendy (James) Rankin of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Nancy (Eric) Van Sickel of Johnston, Iowa, Mary Classon of Marion, Iowa, and Betty (Chuck) Marks, of Anamosa, Iowa, a sister, Eunice Powers of Minong, Wisconsin and a brother, Delbert Hanson of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, her grandchildren; Kara (Caleb) Tevis, Anna (A.J.) Kerr, Daniel Rankin, James Van Sickel, Joseph Van Sickel, Joseph Classon, Deborah Classon, Drew Hingtgen and Brooke (Evan) Davis, and her great grandchildren; Taylor and Landon Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert C. Anderson and a brother, Evander Hanson.

Delores was born March 14, 1934 in Barron, Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry and Angeline (Haas) Hanson. She married Robert C. Anderson on November 27, 1954 at Stanfold Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Delores was employed at Rockwell Collins and a member of First Lutheran Church while living in Cedar Rapids. She will be remembered for her love of animals and gardening. Delores had a very strong faith, a heart of gold, and loved spending time with her family. 

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the employees of the St. Luke’s Ed and Joan Hemphill Hospice Inpatient Unit for their support and care during Delores’ final days. 

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be directed to the family and will be donated to an organization meaningful to Delores.
