David Ray Carpenter, 61, of Waterloo, Iowa passed away at his home Tuesday December 23, 2014. As were his wishes he will be cremated. A celebration of David’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
David is survived by: His father Richard Carpenter of Grundy Center, IA. His two children: Bridget Carpenter of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Jeremy Carpenter of Waterloo, IA.
He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Carpenter in 2010, wife Kathy Carpenter in 2012, sister and siblings Janelle Smothers(1992), Connie(2014), and Jay(1962) Carpenter.
David Ray Carpenter was born September 5, 1953 to Richard Ruben and Shirley LaVonne (Slifer) Carpenter in Grundy Center, IA. On October 6, 1972 he married Kathleen Lovetta Paulson. David served his country with the U.S. Navy. He worked for many years at the U.S. Post Office. David loved spending time with his family, going for rides on his Harley and watching football.
